This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) designed specifically for use in the eyes. It helps ensure a more comfortable recovery by targeting inflammation at the surgical site.
To get the best results, you must use this medication consistently and exactly at the intervals prescribed by your doctor, typically starting shortly before your surgery and continuing for a few weeks afterward. You will apply this medicine by instilling the drops directly into the affected eye. Along with using these drops, wearing protective sunglasses outdoors and avoiding rubbing your eyes will greatly support your healing process.
Dosage Instructions
Follow these instructions for proper dosage:
- Meganac Eye Drops 5 ml is for ophthalmic (for eye) use only.
- It is recommended to instill one drop of Meganac Eye Drops 5 ml 3 times daily or as directed by your doctor.
- Check the label for directions before using this medication.
- Lie down and tilt your head backward. Gently pull your lower eyelid with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the prescribed number of drops into the pocket. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
- Replace the cap tightly after each use.
- Avoid touching the container tip to the eye or eyelids to prevent contamination.
